The WEEE Directive

The aim of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is to minimise the effect of waste electrical equipment on the environment. This is done through recycling and re-using waste equipment to reduce the amount going to landfill. It encourages consumers to recycle electronic waste and for distributors to offer a free take back scheme.

Free Take Back Scheme

Under the WEEE directive we facilitate a take back scheme on a one for one basis on purchases of electrical goods. For example if you buy an FM transmitter from our store you can return an electrical item which has the same purpose free of charge.

To take advantage of the scheme please email sales@jelectronics.co.uk stating what item you want to purchase from our store and what item you wish to return. We will reply to your email to confirm the item you wish to return is covered under the WEEE directive. Then purchase the item from our store as normal and we will provide you with a prepaid envelope to return your old electrical equipment back to us to dispose of safely.

EEE can be identified by a crossed out Wheeled bin symbol. By helping reduce EEE waste you will be helping combat health and environmental effects which landfill creates. If you did not want to return your old equipment back to us you can try to sell it on or donate it to charities which will also help to reduce EEE waste.
