iPod Skin Decal GuideSkin Decals are effectively stickers which you can attach to your iPod. The purpose of them is to protect it from scratches and also change your iPod's appearance and to personalise it.
The advantage of the skins is that they protect your ipod from scratches without adding any bulk to your iPod. The downside of this is that they don't offer much protection if your were to drop the iPod.
Since they are cheap and quick to produce there are many designs available, many companies also offer custom designs so that you can design you own skin, either with artwork or even photos.
They are slightly tricky to stick them onto your iPod. The best way I find is to line up the skin with the edge of the screen to ensure that it is straight. Then use a credit card to push the skin decal along the rest of the device, this helps to squeeze out air bubbles. However the best skins make sure this happens automatically.
Most skins which are available should come away from the iPod without leaving any residue. The skin should be warmed up before removing them to make this easier. Some companies advertise them as 'can be re-used', but when this was tested the skin was mis-shaped and could not be re-applied, although there was enough 'stickiness' on the skin.
